After years of conflict and civil war, Sopacdi enables farmers to work together for a better future. Our partnership with Sopacdi eliminates their need to sell to smugglers or attempt to boat the coffee across the treacherous Lake Kivu to Rwanda, which traditionally results in death of many men. In 2015, Conscious Co-Owner Mel ran 7 marathons in 7 days through this region to promote gender equality. This incredible feat has done so much more, opening the door to a lifetime’s worth of collaboration and progress.
